The RACESAFE Brake Cooling Kit for the Ford Mustang S550 is a purpose-designed, bolt-on solution developed to combat brake overheating during aggressive road driving and track use. Designed to deliver a direct supply of cool air from the front of the vehicle to the brakes, the kit helps maintain consistent braking performance when it matters most.

Unlike underbody scoop-based systems, the S550 kit uses fog light brake duct adaptors to capture high-pressure airflow from the front bumper and direct it through dedicated ducting towards the centre of the brake discs.

RACESAFE Fog Light Brake Cooling Adaptors

The Ford Mustang S550 is a powerful and capable performance platform, but sustained hard braking can generate extremely high brake temperatures — particularly during track use.

To maximise cooling efficiency, RACESAFE developed a dedicated fog light brake duct adaptor system that uses the high-pressure airflow available at the front of the vehicle.

Rather than relying on airflow collected from underneath the car, the adaptors capture cold air directly through the front bumper fog light openings and channel it into the brake ducting. This provides a clean, direct airflow path towards the front brakes.

RACESAFE Brake Backing Plates

Brake heat management becomes increasingly important as vehicle speed, braking force and track session length increase.

The RACESAFE backing plates are designed to receive the cold air supplied by the fog light ducting and direct it towards the centre of the brake disc.

Feeding cooling air towards the centre of the rotor allows the disc's internal ventilation to help draw the cooler air through the disc, improving heat dissipation and helping control brake temperatures under sustained load.
